As part of the ERASMUS+ Jean Monnet Module "EUPMO – Effective Project Management in the European Union: Best Practices and Case Studies," Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) organized the second information session in a hybrid format.

The session was delivered by Gultaj Tahirli, Academic Coordinator of the EUPMO Project, who introduced participants to the European Union's funding landscape, major international grant opportunities, and best practices for developing competitive project proposals.

The event was conducted in a hybrid format to ensure wider participation across UNEC. The face-to-face session brought together the academic staff of the UNEC Business School, while the online session was attended by faculty members of the UNEC Zagatala Branch.

A key focus of the session was the practical process of project proposal development. Participants received guidance on the essential stages of writing successful international project applications, including identifying suitable funding opportunities, developing strong project concepts, structuring proposals, and aligning project objectives with donor priorities.

Following the presentation, participants engaged in an interactive discussion on the growing importance of EU project management competencies in academia and professional practice. The discussion emphasized the role of international project experience in enhancing research capacity, institutional cooperation, and academic excellence.

The EUPMO module is designed to strengthen the knowledge and practical skills of students and professionals interested in European Union project management. It is particularly relevant for participants from business, economics, political science, law, international relations, and other disciplines seeking to develop expertise in international project design and implementation.

The session concluded with several recommendations to further enhance UNEC's participation in international research and innovation initiatives. These included raising awareness of EU funding opportunities among academic staff, organizing specialized capacity-building activities on project development, expanding the dissemination of information on international grant programs, and fostering greater collaboration in the preparation and implementation of EU-funded projects.
